OSBHA Student Health Advocate Interest Form 2019-2020 School Year
Student Health Advocates promote the value of school-based health across Oregon. OSBHA offers this leadership opportunity to young people, ages 14-22, in the Portland Metro area who are interested in becoming a voice not only for their own health, but the health of their peers and community.

We offer a $500 stipend for actively participating in the Student Health Advocates, additional stipends for participating in events, bus fare, and professional development opportunities.

Student Health Advocates plan, facilitate, and participate in dynamic professional development activities and events across Oregon.

Some key responsibilities include:
• Advocate for local and statewide school-based health centers
• Plan statewide conferences, speak publicly about health and wellness issues affecting young people
• Advocate for health equity and social justice legislative efforts
• Writing health related blogs for OSBHA website
• Develop workshops and trainings for OSBHA partners, providers, and other youth groups to build coalitions
• Representatives for OSBHA in peer-led trainings, advocacy campaigns, and presentations

We meet twice a month for two hours after school in the Portland Metro area. The schedule and location will be confirmed when the application opens up.
