This form is for those interested in auditioning for a position with the MSO.
We are currently auditioning for full-time positions in all string sections, as well as select openings in horn, trumpet, and percussion. Musicians in other wind and percussion sections are welcome to apply to be placed on our substitute list.
Qualified candidates will have some experience playing in a symphony orchestra, some familiarity with
standard orchestral repertoire, acceptable sight-reading skills, and the availability to attend scheduled
rehearsals and concerts for the season.
Full-time players are expected to be available for the following concert dates:- Sunday, August 31, 2025 - 3:00 PM
- Sunday, September 14, 2025 - Time TBD (12:00–5:00 PM window)
- Saturday, October 25, 2025 - 7:30 PM
- Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 3:30 PM
- Saturday, March 7, 2026 - 7:30 PM
- Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 7:30 PM
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:30 PM to 9:30 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. There is a dress rehearsal the Friday before all concerts from 7:30 to 10. The dress rehearsal for the August concert is the Saturday morning before the concert.
