Applicant Information
AmeriCorps is a service program that allows individuals to provide various local, non-profit, and state based organizations with necessary services and support. Each year, AmeriCorps leverages thousands of service members to complete important projects, provide support to populations in need, and make a positive impact on communities across the country. AmeriCorps is a federally funded program overseen by state agencies and administered by state and local nonprofits, schools, and non-political community organizations.

AmeriCorps members develop important skills, receive hands on experience, improve their communities, and are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of all program requirements. AmeriCorps members serving with the YWCA, CASA, and Hastings Literacy Program also receive monthly living stipends in addition to the potential Education Award. AmeriCorps allows individuals seeking higher education the opportunity to lessen their financial burden, earn meaningful experience, and make a positive impact on their communities.

AmeriCorps Members serve an average of 8 to 25 hours per week depending on the contracted position. Please review available position descriptions here: www.ywcaadamscounty.org > Who We Are > Employment Opportunities
