SOCAN and GCAN are actively collecting information on social and environmental vulnerabilities in the US Southeast (SE) and Gulf of Mexico (GoM). We would greatly appreciate you filling out a brief needs survey regarding ocean acidification. This is an emerging environmental concern with potential impacts to coastal waters. Your responses will be used to inform NOAA’s future related research, outreach education and mitigation efforts. This project is in response to the Intergovernmental Working Group on Ocean Acidification's (IWGOA) request for nationwide CAN engagement in identifying ocean acidification vulnerabilities, research, and monitoring priorities.
The full report on vulnerabilities of coastal communities, as of January 23, 2022 is still under review for submission to the White House. You can read Executive Summaries of the chapters for the Gulf of Mexico and the Southeast US report here.
Please take a few minutes and fill out this questionnaire on your understanding of acidification in the coastal zone and where our research and communication priorities should focus in the coming years.
None of your personal information is shared with SOCAN/GCAN.
Thank you for your time. You can learn more about this project here.
