Join us as we celebrate the 26th Annual Whittle the Wood Rendezvous June 18 – 20, 2026 in Craig, Colorado! This premier 3-day woodcarving event will be hosted at the Moffat County Fairgrounds located just off U.S. Highway 40, serving as a gateway entrance to Craig. Surrounded by dramatic canyons, rolling hills, and the Yampa River, Craig offers a backdrop of rugged beauty and is uniquely home to the Craig River Park, the Yampa Valley Golf Course, and the Museum of Northwest Colorado. The Fairgrounds campus is a highly visible event location featuring green space, covered picnic shelter, playground, support facilities, and plenty of parking. Whittle the Wood Rendezvous consistently draws a large crowd year after year based on its long running history and assertive marketing approach highlighting event woodcarving, musical entertainment, and variety of vendor offerings

ARTS & CRAFTS / NON-PROFIT VENDOR INFORMATION

  • Booth Specifications: All booth spaces are 15’ x 15’ in size. No trailers are allowed. Each vendor must provide their own display equipment and is responsible for setting up and cleaning up of their booth space at the end of the event. Only tape, string weights and proper tent stakes may be used. No other types of stakes or nails may be driven into the ground for booth display. All materials used to secure the tent must be within your allotted booth space area. Vendors should be prepared to put up their own sunshade, wind & rain protection and should be prepared for possible adverse weather conditions. Electricity is not available for any Arts & Crafts or Non-Profit vendors.
  • Booth Information: Booth spaces will be located within the eastern Arts & Crafts zone of the Fairgrounds campus (see map). Booth spaces are numbered, laid out, and assigned in advance. Vendors are not permitted to switch booth spaces with other vendors. Craig Parks & Recreation strives to equitably select vendors with minimal duplication. Be advised that vendors are prohibited from selling any graphic material that is not suitable for children and families. Each vendor must detail all items being sold on their application. Vendors may be asked to leave the event if it is determined you are not selling your intended items or are selling inappropriate items. Security will be on site to monitor the park day and night along with additional periodic monitoring by deputies of the Moffat County Sheriff and Craig Police Departments. Vendor applications are due on Friday, March 20. Late applications are placed on a waiting list with no guarantee of acceptance. Our Arts & Crafts vendor fee is $75. Please do not send payment with your application. You will receive notification by email when your application has been received. Further notification will be sent by email once vendor selection and non-selection has taken place. 
  • Selling Times: Our event has no set beginning or end times. Therefore, event staff do not dictate hours of operation for the sale of merchandise. Vendors decide when to open, when to close and when to leave the event. Typically, high foot traffic starts Friday afternoon/evening and continues all day on Saturday. In the coming months, a schedule of events will be posted on our website at www.whittlethewood.com/schedule_of_events 
  • Set-Up Hours: ABSOLUTELY NO UNLOADING DIRECTLY FROM VEHICLES WILL BE PERMITTED. Vendors will be required to unload from the parking area next to the barn (see map). Please be prepared with a cart or dolly to assist you in unloading merchandise from your vehicle. Event staff will also be available to assist with unloading merchandise. All vendors must adhere to the designated set-up times listed below unless otherwise approved by Craig Parks and Recreation staff.
    o    Thursday, June 18 from 8am-5pm
    o    Friday, June 19 from 8am-5pm
    o    Absolutely NO set-up will be allowed on Saturday, June 20, unless prearranged with staff
  • Sales Tax and Special Event License: Vendors must obtain a special event license through the State of Colorado and a special event license through the City of Craig separately. Proof of both Special Events Licenses is due prior to attending the event. For more information on each, visit:

    CITY OF CRAIG: https://www.cityofcraig.org/departments/finance_department/special_events.php  Sales tax to be collected is 8.9%; including 2% State of Colorado and 2.9% Moffat County sales tax remitted together to the State of Colorado, and 4% for the City of Craig remitted separately. Both sales tax returns will be due by July 20th.
