• Young Leader of the Year

Candidate must be aged 12-25 years and be attending secondary or tertiary education institution
Will have displayed leadership qualities through initiation of a project which will have benefitted the community and has,as a consequence, inspired young people within the City of Wyndham
Will have displayed inspirational devotion towards community service and volunteering
Will have experience in public speaking or debating
Will have displayed leadership qualities among young people
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
Will be undergoing full time or part time studies
Candidate must be nominated by school/university or local community organisation
Candidate must be a current resident of the City of Wyndham


• Young New resident Leader of the Year

Candidate must be aged 12-25 years and be attending secondary or tertiary education institution
Candidate must have resided in City of Wyndham not before January 2012
Will have displayed inspirational devotion towards community service and volunteering
Will be involved in own cultural experiences and customs but will be a catalyst for integration of own community into Australian way of life
Will have displayed leadership qualities through initiation of a project which will have benefitted the community and has,as a consequence, inspired young people within the City of Wyndham
Will have displayed leadership qualities among young people wishing to integrate into the Wyndham Community
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
Will be undergoing full time or part time studies
Candidate must be nominated by school/university or local community organisation.


• Young indigenous Leader of the Year

Must be of aboriginal or Torres Strait Island background
Will be 12-25 years of age
Will have shown devotion to community service and volunteering
Will be involved in leadership activities and will display leadership qualities
Must belong to indigenous community group
Must be studying part or full time
Candidate must be a current resident of the City of Wyndham.

To be considered for the recognition program, the nominee must satisfy the Rules of Entry.

The Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing is the organiser and promoter of the Neil Vick Youth Leadership Award Program.

The instructions below comprise the program's Rules of Entry. Failure to comply with the Rules of Entry may result in a nomination being disqualified.

All nominations must be received no later than 5.00pm on 26th August 2017.

Nominees are restricted by age, which is open to all Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, Refugees/Asylum Seekers and Temporary Residents 25 years or younger on 26th August 2017.

Individual can be nominated in only one category.

The Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing has the right to change a nominee’s category if another is deemed more appropriate. This will not affect the validity of the nomination.

Winners cannot be nominated in the same category in subsequent years. Finalists and other nominees may be nominated in the same category in subsequent years.

Only nominees who are chosen as finalists will be contacted to advise them and confirm their attendance at the presentation ceremony at the advised venue. Finalists will be asked to agree to comply with these rules of entry and to participate in all promotional activities.

Finalists may be required to supply a birth certificate or other identification if asked.

The final judging of the nominations will be conducted by a panel of judges appointed by Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing and finalists will be notified by phone/email.

If the judges are of the opinion that there is no suitable nominee in any category, no winner will be awarded in that category.

Judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Nominees, finalists and winners may be published in local and metropolitan media and may appear on broadcasts by media.

Each nominator assigns to the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing all copyright and other intellectual property rights in all material (written and photographic) sent in as part of a nomination.

Each nominator acknowledges that the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing, as owner of the copyright in the material, may reproduce or transmit the material in any media for any purpose throughout the world without permission or payment.

Each nominator waives their moral rights in the material which they submit with their nomination.

Each nominator assures the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing that it is the owner of the material which the nominator has submitted as part of the nomination and that if the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing uses any of that material as contemplated above it will not breach any person’s rights (including copyright or moral rights).

The Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing may also use the information to assist in improving its goods and services.

By entering this promotion, each nominee agrees in addition to the above uses, that the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing may publish or cause to be published their names and suburb in any media, together with publishing more detailed information which it obtains either through this or any other process.
