First year Consultants are usually hired during spring semester of a member’s Senior Year. Training begins during the summer months. Consultants will travel throughout the academic year to SAM Chapters across the country. This is a full time job.
Consultant Responsibilities include:
Training Chapter Officers and Committee Chairmen
Carrying out the National Policies
Educating Undergraduates in all areas of Chapter Programming, including: Membership Recruitment, Scholarship, New Member Education, Philanthropy, Community Service, Fraternal Education
Consulting with University Administrators
Cultivating Local Alumni to work with Chapters
Assisting Expansion Teams with Presentations
Serving as Public Relations Ambassadors
Working with the Local College IFC's
Developing new Resource Materials for the National Organization
Representing the National Organization at Regional and National Conferences
This position affords the opportunity to serve as a counselor, educator, spokesperson, advisor and as an expert in communications. Skills developed include: oral and written communication, organization, project management, creativity, marketing, presentation, sales and independent thinking.
