Thank you for requesting to join the Autonomous Tenant Union Network! ATUN membership is open to tenant unions (not individual organizers). A tenants union is defined as a group of tenants who have a strategy for building tenant power beyond one particular building or complex. (Some building-wide groups of tenants call themselves unions, but we would ask that those groups of tenants build power with other tenants in the same neighborhood or city before seeking to join ATUN.) Groups must be actively involved in struggle – examples would include regular meetings, canvassing campaigns or efforts to contact tenants in need, issuing demand letters, staging protests, etc.
If you think your union is a good fit for ATUN membership, please check out ATUN's Points of Unity and Structure document (located here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dLUr1Amq92IJqVuuxAi7YpVfvM-hjS9WA6yBFZfN5dA/edit?usp=sharing) and discuss with your union.
If your union agrees with ATUN's Points of Unity, meets the affiliation criteria, and has collectively decided to affiliate with ATUN, go ahead and fill out the form below!
