The Puget Sound Section (PSS) of APA Washington is excited to launch a pilot scholarship program to support attendance at the 2025 Conference, October 8–10 in Tacoma. The program aims to support the pipeline of emerging planners—students and early-career professionals—in Snohomish, King, and Pierce counties.
Scholarships cover partial registration fees: up to $150 for ten students and $250 for ten emerging planners.
Eligible students must be enrolled in the following PSS-area programs:
- UW Seattle – MUP or BA in CEP
- UW Tacoma – BA in Urban Studies, BA in Sustainable Development, BS in Urban Design, or MA in Community Planning
Eligible emerging planners include:
- Recent graduates of accredited planning degree programs who graduated no later than five years before the conference (before October 8, 2020); who also
- Confirm they are experiencing a financial challenge defined as; job loss/unemployment;
an employer that does not pay for ongoing education; or status as a volunteer
for a community that does not pay for ongoing education.
How to Apply:
- Scholarships will be awarded on a first come first serve basis for
complete applications.
- Applications on or before the state conference August 27th 2025 early bird registration deadline are
strongly encouraged as registration rates go up after the deadline,
but scholarship amounts do not! Please note that the conference registration is a separate process, and this scholarship application is not a conference registration.
