Content & Agenda Overview:
Join us for this 10 hour workshop to deepen your understanding and skills in the inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning. This interactive experience will cover both foundational theories and practical strategies, allowing you to explore how inquiry fosters critical thinking, curiosity, and engagement in students.
Through interactive activities, collaborative discussions, and real-world applications, you’ll gain tools to create bilingual learning environments that encourage questioning and exploration. Whether you’re new to inquiry or looking to refine your approach, this workshop will empower you to cultivate classroom experiences where students take ownership of their learning journey.
Day 1 (2 sessions):
- Introductions: Who is in this community?
- Reflections, and provocations for inquiry
- Research base: What is inquiry and what is it not?
- What is the relationship between inquiry-based practices and direct instruction?

Day 3 (2 sessions):
- Additional strategies for integrating inquiry-based practices into your teaching (grade level specific)
- Closing reflection, feedback, and an invitation to action
