Register for our competition in the following categories:
1) Professional category (as an individual or individual + one assistant) or 
2) Beginner Florist/Student (Designer with 5 years or less experience). Win fabulous prizes! (see below)
BEGINNER CATEGORY IS FULL. ONLY ACCEPTING PROFESSIONAL ENTRANTS AT THIS TIME.

This event is part of our 14th Anniversary Winter Design Show weekend. It is an opportunity for designers to exhibit their artistic talents to the public. The goal of the competition is to encourage and inspire floral designers to showcase their skills in innovative ways that promote creativity and bolster the designers' reputation. United’s aim is to simulate a business environment where teamwork and profitability are critical to success; connect designers and students with a community of floral and event vendors; and create a bridge for the AIFD National Symposium, which is one of the best ways to learn to take your floral design to the next level.

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023 (9am-1pm)
Where: United Wholesale Flowers 2350 Harris Way San Jose, California.  
Theme: Holiday Beyond Imagination 
Categories: Professionals will have 2 hours to design three pieces: (1) a VIP CEO's table at a Fortune 500 holiday party, (2) either a floral jewelry piece or floral hair piece (3) a bouquet for the CEO's wife.
Beginners will have 1.5 hours to design 2 pieces (1) centerpiece for a Fortune 500 Winter company holiday party and (2) a shoulder or wrist corsage.
We will provide all flowers and greens, supplies (tape, wire, glue etc) and containers. Entrants will bring their own tools. Linens and silverware to be provided for the table designs. Floral jewelry and bouquets will be modeled during the fashion show the following day. 
ENTRY CATEGORIES & PRIZES
Professional Entry Fee: $95 (Can be one individual OR individual + one assistant)(5+ years experience)
Grand Prize Winner: Trip to 2024 AIFD Symposium Orlando (worth $1500) + Trophy + $500 UWF Credit
Professional 1st Runner up : $1000 Store Credit to UWF + Trophy
Professional 2nd Runner up: $500 Store Credit to UWF + Trophy

Beginner Florist/Student (Designer with less than 5 years experience) Entry Fee: Free

Beginner Florist/Student 1st Place: $300 Store Credit to UWF + Certificate
Beginner Florist/Student 2nd Place: $200 Store Credit to UWF + Certificate
Beginner Florist/Student 3rd Place: $100 Store Credit to UWF + Certificate

* All contestants will receive free admission to Donald Yim AIFD PFCI's program the next morning on 10-22 (value of $125)

*one prize awarded per individual or team; team members to determine prize sharing division
• All winners will receive 10% off all supplies for 3 months.
• Winning designs will be submitted for publication to Florists’ Review, wedding magazines and more
• Professional category winners will have the opportunity to teach a monthly workshop at UWF

Registration closes  when contestant capacity is reached. If you find that the form is closed to entries, this means that all the spaces have been filled.
Registrants will receive confirmation of their registration within 36 hours and a payment link (if professional category)

GENERAL RULES and GUIDELINES

1. Designers in the Professional Category may work individually or a team of 2 people (Individual + assistant) All teams must be registered together at time of entry. The Student/Beginner Category will be for individual work.
2. All flowers and materials for both categories will be provided in a surprise package.
3. Designers must bring their own tools to the competition. 5 tools are allowed: floral knife, pruners, needle nose pliers, ribbon shears or scissors, and wire cutter). Designers can bring in a snack and water bottle.
4. Time will be allowed to plan and prepare your materials. All work must be completed by the stop time.
5. Winner's will be announced the next day at the floral fashion show.
STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING: I certify that I have read and understand all of the rules and regulations set by United Wholesale Flowers (UWF) for the design competition. I understand all decisions by the judges will be final. I also understand that this competition may be videotaped and pictures will be posted on the United Wholesale Flowers social media channels and website.
