2Sigma School invites you to pilot ALPS - An Adaptive Learning Platform for Schools that Provides Intelligent Teacher Recommendations.
Are you a Computer Science teacher willing to test a new product that can improve your teaching? 2Sigma School in partnership with SRI International invite high school Computer Science teachers to pilot an AI-based adaptive learning platform that provides intelligent recommendations for teachers.
Participating teachers will use the platform in their class during the 2024- 2025 school year to easily view student progress towards mastery, engagement, and many other data points while also being able to assign custom assignments based on each student’s performance. This is your chance to participate in a U.S. Department of Education funded research study to test an innovative product that has the potential to transform high school CS teaching and learning.
Benefits of Participation:
+ All participating teachers will receive free licenses, teacher professional development and technical support for the intelligent, adaptive learning platform.
+ Your input will help shape a cutting edge instructional tool.
Participant Expectations:
+ Use the adaptive learning platform within your AP Computer Science classroom of at least fifteen (15) students during the 2024-2025 academic year. Use the platform for at least 2-4 months during the academic year.
+ Attend a few hours of training on use of the platform.
+ Complete a brief 10 minute online teacher log every week for a span of 2-4 months.
+ Complete brief teacher surveys (30 minutes) and interviews (1 hour) about your experience using the new tool.
+ Allow SRI researchers to observe your class a few times during your usage of the adaptive platform.
+ Facilitate completion of student consent forms and surveys.
Compensation: Based on the level of participation (e.g., duration, number of students), participants will be eligible to receive compensation in the range of $100 - $250.
