Representation is especially important as we enter the 2022 election season and prepare to release endorsements. Section 3: Issues

Which issues would you like to learn more about?

Local policy: Ordinance 473. Ordinance 473 is a Town regulation that limits the amount of unrelated people living in a home to 3. It is in the process of being repealed.

Local planning: Legacy Lodge. The new owners of Legacy Lodge want to turn the facility previously used for assisted living into homes for locals.

Local planning: Northern South Park (NSP). NSP, located on the southern boundary of Jackson, is a potential housing development of over 200 acres.

Local zoning: moratoria. Zoning dictates what kinds of development are allowed in specific areas. We proposed a temporary moratorium on development in order to revisit our zoning laws to ensure they are serving locals.

State goals: Real estate tax. The real estate tax (essentially a sales tax on luxury real estate) could bring in $12 million or more in public funds every year. It failed in 2022 in the state legislature.

Organizational goals: member growth, fundraising, public outreach
