Volunteering in a Welcome Group requires patience, proactivity, and significant commitment - you will be working in a frontline role with a vulnerable population, which is a responsibility that should be taken seriously. You must be 18 and older to volunteer for Together Project.
There are three ways to get involved:
REGISTER A WELCOME GROUP
Welcome Groups are the backbone of Together Project - our matching process will help introduce you to a refugee newcomer individual or family. Welcome Groups need to include at least four members. If your group only has two or three members, you can still register and someone from Together Project can discuss options to complete your group.
REGISTER AS AN INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER
If you don't have three or more friends, family members, or colleagues with whom you can register a Welcome Group, you may register as an individual volunteer. We will try to connect you with other individual volunteers to form a Welcome Group, or add you to an existing Welcome Group that needs more members.
REGISTER AS A CULTURAL AMBASSADOR
If you speak and write in another language, such as Arabic, Kurdish, or Tigrinya, you can register to be a "Cultural Ambassador", providing linguistic and cultural interpretation between refugee newcomers and Welcome Groups. You can volunteer to be both a Cultural Ambassador and a member of a Welcome Group.
Please note: All personal information is confidential and only available to Together Project staff.
