PLEASE NOTE: K9 Enrichment Initiative (K9EI Rescue) is an all-volunteer organization and applications are processed in the order in which they are received. The application may appear long and tedious, or even invasive, but the more information you provide upfront the easier and quicker we can work to have you approved to adopt. The welfare of our dogs is our number one priority, we look at their needs to decide who will be the best fit as their new family.
We are a Force Free/Fear Free/Positive Reinforcement training advocate organization, we adopt to like-minded individuals. No choke, prong, electric collars, or electric fencing. This is not negotiable.
We require all puppies to attend training classes with their new family's to start off right in bonding and learning trust. We may require older dogs to attend training with their family based on their past history. This is not negotiable.

In order to qualify for the K9 Enrichment Initiative, Inc. (K9EI Rescue) foster/adoption program, the following requirements need to be met:
-Must be at least 21 years of age, and show proof of age whether a State ID or Driver's License. 18 years may qualify if a co-adopter over the age of 21 is listed on legal agreements.
-All current pets must be up to date with vaccinations and be spayed/neutered.
-If you currently rent, must provide the landlord's telephone number and permission granted in writing from the renter on company letterhead.
-Must live within 40 miles of the 60544 zip code. If you are outside the 40 miles by mere miles, be sure to ask if we have a representative in your area who can do the home visit. Send an email inquiry, prior to completing the application. Our vets are located in Shorewood, Joliet, Lisle, Westmont. You will be expected to bring the dogs to our vet during your foster to adopt period.
-We do not ship/transport dogs to adopters.
