The aim of this survey is to investigate competencies developed by educational institutions across Europe for Therapeutic Radiographers (TRs) practising on the Linear Accelerator.
The title “Therapeutic Radiographer” is going to be used in this study, since this is the title used in the UK (country leading the SAFE EUROPE project and where I am enrolled on the PhD programme). Other titles can be found, including "Radiation Therapist", "Radiotherapy Technologist", amongst others.
This research is of importance for all professionals since it will enable identification of gaps in competence at qualification between countries and against an agreed benchmark minimum standard of the EQF level 6. Identifying gaps against the standards will enable education institutions to consider closing the gaps.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation.
