The goal of this the Wyoming Outdoor Weekend is to feature the region as an outdoor destination, exposing attendees to fun recreational opportunities that exist in the state.
Wyoming Outdoor Weekend will be open to pre-registered school classes from 9am-3pm on Friday May 18th at the Lander community center. This event is appropriate for students in 3rd - 8th grade. All classes planning to attend must register in order to inform our planning process and to ensure there is space for the students at various activities. Activities we are hoping to have include: a bear safety awareness trail, macroinvertebrate ID and stream health, wildlife habitat walk, fish ID and biology, bird watching, archery, wilderness first aid, trapping skills, and many more! Students will walk through learning stations and have a fun day. A lunch break will be provided for students to eat the sack lunches they bring. Full or part-day attendance is acceptable.
