AFT Managing Behavior in School Communities
The AFT and Providence Teacher's Union is excited to offer a two-part professional development series on Managing Behavior in School Communities.
Each session will last approximately 2 hours and will be offered at the PTU Office. You may register to attend one of the sessions or both of the sessions. If you are interested in attending please read the details about each session below and fill out the survey as we will only be able to accommodate the first 30 people who register.
Managing Behavior in School Communities Part I- April 5th
This two hour session will focus on the research, descriptors, triggers and interventions of the 7 Phases of the Acting Cycle as well as opportunity to apply the concepts dicussed with colleagues.
Managing Behavior in School Communities Part II- April 12th
This two hour session will focus on defining behavior, looking at the heirarchy of consequences, exploring the differences between positive reinforcment, punishment and negative reinforcement and reviewing tips on practices to avoid.
