Workshop with Naoko Ogawa For Primary Educators and Elementary Educators
MARCH 7TH, 2020: WORKSHOP FOR PRIMARY EDUCATORS and ELEMENTARY Educators with Naoko Ogawa

Workshop -- Focus: Primary and Elementary
MAKE-AND-TAKE WORKSHOP WITH NAOKO OGAWA: POUCHES AND BOXES AND EMBROIDERY, OH MY!
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ($115 - includes materials fee)

Perhaps you’ve wondered where you could find that perfect container for 1”x2” paper for a math presentation, or
wished you had a nice pouch to hold small strips of writing paper. You will actually make several pouches and
boxes to take home, as well as the patterns and instructions so you can continue to create more as you need
them! THE BEST PART of this is you can teach the children in your classroom how to make these wonderful
containers. Naoki will also share easy and beautiful Japanese kirigami patterns that can be used to decorate any
paper pouch or box. In this workshop you will also be instructed on the art of Japanese sasiko embroidery,
another handcraft you can share with the children.
