If we don’t contact you, this means that there are no openings currently. Please don’t transfer any money BEFORE we have confirmed an opening for you. Folk Marathon is a grassroots meeting of about 300 people, who meet yearly, each time in a different European town/ city. This time it will happen in Sofia, Bulgaria, initiated by the cultural organization
Balfolkariya. Our aim is to end up with a balanced budget, to cover expenses (
venue rents, sound engineering, fees for music right collecting societies etc.), not to make profit. Therefore, we ask for upfront donations ("participation fee" = Folk Marathon Pass), but it's also possible to attend single events, for a one-time-donation each.
The number of participants is limited to 300, so don't wait too long to apply and in case there's still spots, be quick with paying the fee. There will be a waiting list, but we can't guarantee that everyone on it will get a spot.
We need an individual application form from every participant. Children under the age of 6 don't have to apply and come in for free (but please let us know). If you are under 18 - you need to be accompanied by an adult and you need a signed document - talk to us and we'll explain in detail.
