The Annual Orange County African American Historical Society Eclipse Award honors individuals who have significantly contributed to increasing awareness and appreciation of the rich cultural and historical legacy of Orange County’s African American community.

Recipients of this award are recognized not only for their impact across the broader community, but also for exemplifying the qualities of strong and effective leadership.

There are two award categories:

Youth (up to age 25)
Adults

Nomination Deadline: Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Finalists will be contacted to confirm their willingness to accept the nomination. Upon acceptance, nominees will receive details about the next steps in the process.
