If interested in volunteering for the Ann Arbor Pride Festival, please review the following information:

Event Date: Saturday August 2nd 2025

What to expect as a volunteer: 

• A welcoming and inclusive environment 

• Hybrid volunteer training one week before the event

• Safety First

• First aid, bathrooms,cooling stations, water & snacks

• Queer owned security company with LGBTQ+ specific training

• Free volunteer t-shirt

• Outdoor conditions, August weather

• Opportunities to sign up as a group & volunteer together (sports teams, employee resource groups, etc.) 

Volunteer Opportunities

• Set Up/Tear Down 

• Main Actions: set up/tear down tents, decorations, and signage, pick up rubbish 

• Physical Demands: ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, reach and hang items above head, outside for duration of set up, reaching to pick up or sweep items

• Pride Floater

• Main Actions: walk around in designated zones, answer attendee questions, pick up rubbish and empty trash cans, collect donations through cashless donation jars

• Physical Demands: walking/standing outdoors for the duration of volunteer shift, reaching to pick up or sweep items, empty cardboard trash cans 

• Pride Greeter 

• Main Actions: greet attendees, answer attendee questions, share Ann Arbor Pride guides/maps, collect donations through cashless donation jars

• Physical Demands: seated at covered booth for the duration of volunteer shift, opportunity for temporary relief from station as needed for health/bathroom needs 

• Volunteer the week before the festival to prep materials 

• Main actions: prepare goodie bags 

• Physical Demands: place objects in bags, can remain seated, indoors at Jim Toy Community Center (accessible entrance)
