Since our CSO is part of the human rights community in Lebanon, and since we believe and commit to the Women on Boards’ journey, we affirm our dedication to advancing gender equality and women's empowerment.
Having engaged in sessions organized by the Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB), which provided insights into the proposed legislation aimed at achieving 30% women representation on boards of Sociétés Anonymes Libanaises SAL (commonly referred to as WOB), we pledge the following commitments :
- We endorse the vision of achieving a 30% quota for women on boards ,
- We will actively promote training initiatives on best gender practices related to women on board journeys.
- By 2030, we commit to achieving 30% representation of women on our own board supported by the implementation of necessary regulations and policies to foster gender inclusion, equality, and the advancement of women.
- We will integrate provisions into our internal regulations and policies that promote gender inclusion, equality in promotion, and pay equity between men and women.
- We will engage in raising awareness, advocating, and promoting the WOB journey to achieve the 30% goal.
- We will raise awareness and actively combat sexual harassment in the workplace, ensuring our staff are educated about their rights and responsibilities in handling such cases.
- We will develop solutions and implement measures to support working parents, mainly mothers, with their essential needs, fostering a conducive environment for balancing work and family responsibilities.
By committing to these actions, we pledge to collaborate closely with LLWB, to enhance women's roles in business and mainly on boards and decision making positions and contribute to economic growth and social development. As signatories, we proudly join the Women on Boards journey spearheaded by LLWB, and agree that our Organization name appears on the pledge for the Women on Boards Journey.
