Mission Care Application
Dear Applicant,

Thank you so much for applying for our Mission Care Urban Residency Program. These programs are designed to not only provide opportunities to serve at-risk youth and families, but to also provide a challenging program that will help young potential leaders, like yourself, grow in their faith and leadership. Our past leaders have consistently shared that this experience, while challenging, has changed their perception of the world and their faith for the better.

It has been said, “Out of difficulties grow miracles.” Make no mistake, this program is challenging and requires commitment. We are what we are committed to.  So it is important that you read over carefully what the commitments of this program are, as these commitments are the most important thing about this program.

Program Commitments:

_______ Complete the Mission Care Urban Residency Program, which runs 8/14/2023 - 8/5/2024

_______ Serve a minimum of 10 hours per week in assigned neighborhood as a Resident or 6 hours for Apprentices who do not live onsite.  After-School Programs and Bible Studies run 3:30-5:30pm or 3:00pm-5:00pm and you must be available for a minimum of 2 days.  

_______ Attend Monday night Urban Leadership Classes and Trainings, 6:30-8:30pm
                             
_______ Attend Parent and Community Nights

_______ Serve at a minimum of 2 program events or field trips

_______ Attend Mission Care Weekend Retreats (Fall and Summer)

_______ Serve at the Fall Ball annual fundraiser

_______ Serve one week at Care Camp (Summer)

Commitments and Expectations
Our goal for Mission Care is to provide a year long experience where young leaders can serve at-risk urban neighborhoods, live in intentional community and devote themselves to seeking a deeper understanding of God's command to serve those in need and how it applies to every aspect of our lives.
I understand that if I am accepted to the residency program, I will live with a diverse group of residents, share weekly responsibilities, and share the costs of PG&E.
