General Volunteer Application 2025
Assalmu Alaykum,

We are so excited that you are interested in volunteering for MuslimFest 2025! We've come a long way these past 22 years, and have created many memories for Muslims across Canada and beyond. 

MuslimFest 2025 is taking place at Mississauga Celebration Square from Friday, August 29 - Sunday, August 31.

Volunteers are the heart of our festival - from planning to executing, they make it all happen. Our three-day event will have stage performances, exhibits, theatrical performances, displays, vendors, kids programming and more!

NOTE: Minimum volunteer age is 15 years

Below are descriptions for the shifts available: 

SET-UP VOLUNTEERS: Event set-up and festival load-in (exhibits, programming, bazaar, operations, etc.)
  • Friday, August 29th (7:00am - 12:00pm)
3-DAY FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS: Team of general volunteers who will work closely with coordinators and officers to manage the day-to-day of the event 
  • Friday, August 29th (11:00am - 12:00am)
  • Saturday, August 30th (11:00am - 12:00am)
  • Sunday, August 31st  (11:00am - 1:00am) 
TAKE-DOWN VOLUNTEERS: Take-down of the event and festival load-out (exhibits, programming, bazaar, operations, etc.)
  • Sunday, August 31st (8:00pm - 1:00am)
MANDATORY IN-PERSON INTERVIEW: Volunteers HAVE to attend a mandatory in-person interview with the MuslimFest team to be considered for the event. 

IN-PERSON INTERVIEW DATES: 
  • July 26th - August 3rd (VM team will be emailing you to book your respective times)
Selected volunteers will go through two types of trainings in advance of the festival. All volunteers will need to complete the MuslimFest 101 training modules (done digitally) and then will attend two in-person training sessions in the weekends leading up to the event.  

ONLINE MODULE COMPLETION DATE: 
  • August 7th- August 16th (ALL volunteers must complete the module before their Onsite Training)

ONSITE TRAININGS: (Volunteers will be trained on their respective roles and responsibilities within the teams they are assigned to)
  • Sunday, August 16/17, 2025 (4hr Training Session) 
  • Sunday, August 23/24, 2025 (4hr Training Session)
