Artsmark SPARK! is an opportunity for Somerset schools to access funding, CPD and support, for developing arts & cultural learning in their setting. Managed by Spaeda, with funding from Sound Foundation Somerset and Real Ideas Organisation, the scheme aims to provide a boost to teaching, learning, and creativity in schools, especially in these challenging times.

Schools can apply for up to £1500 of funds, plus have their £500 Artsmark registration fee paid for. To access this, you need to commit to registering for Artsmark, and pledge match funding up to £500. This needs to be 'new' funds, meaning anything that hasn't been used on arts or culture before and won't take away from other planned cultural activity. If you have already registered for Artsmark, you would still be eligible for this scheme as long as this was done no earlier than Sept 2018. Renewing schools are also eligible to apply.

As well as the match funding, you will be able to access a wide range of creative CPD for staff, resources, and support with writing your Statement of Commitment for Artsmark, including connecting with cultural partners.

There are termly deadlines, as listed below, and applications are welcomed on a rolling basis. However, please note the funding is limited and so we very much recommend applying sooner rather than later!

Application deadlines in 2021, all by 5pm:
Term 3 - Mon 11th January
Term 4 - Mon 22nd February
Term 5 - Mon 19th April
Term 6 - Mon 7th June
End of school year - Mon 5th July
