Kindergarten Readiness Enrollment
A child’s readiness for kindergarten includes both academic and social-emotional skills. Our school is very small with only about 5 students in a classroom.
Readiness gaps are evident upon entry to kindergarten and will persist if not assessed and addressed. Structural inequities place students at unequal starting points. All too often, those inequalities occur when students’ unique needs are not met. At The Study Station, we know what skills young children will need as they enter kindergarten, and we will strive to support children in areas where they need it most. The Study Station Kindergarten Readiness Program gives schools, teachers and families a complete picture of school readiness in 4 key areas: Mathematics, Literacy, Self-Regulation, and Social Skills. Each child will receive a personalized portfolio to take with them into kindergarten.
We provide a rigorous curriculum that is tailored to meet the learning needs of all students. We follow NC state standards to ensure students have strong reading and math skills to enter kindergarten. We encourage academic growth, gross and fine motor skills, and social interaction. Students will be assessed formally and informally throughout the year and grouped accordingly into small group learning.
Our program will be set up similarly to traditional kindergarten so our students will be successful learners and have fun! Our teachers are professionally trained, certified, licensed, and have bachelor degrees in Elementary Education.
