Welcome to Watts Tutorial Program's tutor application! We recruit throughout the year, so please fill out an application if you'd like to tutor with us and opt into our email list!
WHO WE ARE:
The Watts Tutorial Program has been a part of UCLA for 32 years. It is a tutoring and mentoring organization that serves the children of the Watts and William Mead government housing projects. Our program offers one-on-one tutoring sessions where every service recipient receives the fullest attention from his/her tutor as we aspire for these service recipients to achieve their maximum academic potential. Tutors not only serve as academic advisors to our service recipients, but also as role models and personal mentors. Our project also provides nutritious meals from different cultures for our recipients who do not have the opportunity to consume such food regularly. Furthermore, Watts Tutorial Program organizes fun and interactive weekly activities for our recipients; many of these activities are put on by UCLA student groups. Finally, our program organizes field trips that are both fun and educational for our service recipients. Through these efforts, Watts Tutorial Program hopes to inspire our service recipients to strive towards higher education and a better life for themselves and their families.
