2) Ealing teachers receive inner London pay while support staff receive outer London pay.
3) The requirement for schools to implement performance related pay for teachers has been removed from the STPCD.
4) There is no requirement in the STPCD for PPA time to be taken at school.
5) That secondary schools pay less than primary schools into the local trade union facility pot. This means there is less Ealing NEU officers’ time available to represent, support and advise us than previously, when they paid the same as primary and special schools.
6) Since this reduction into the facilities pot by secondary schools, Ealing NEU membership has grown from around 2,300 members to 3,300.
7) Education is in a poly-crisis; we need our elected school reps even more, but they do not have weekly trade union release time as an entitlement and that the amount of time ‘recommended’ per week is restricted to a maximum of 40 members.
8) Since the change in the leadership of Ealing Council, virtually all of our communications have been ignored. Despite numerous attempts of engagement made by Ealing NEU.
9) Ealing Council are manufacturing legalistic obstacles to avoid directly meeting with Ealing NEU representatives.
We call upon Ealing Council to:
1) Grant entitlement to all school staff to have 3 days paid leave for religious observance.
2) To meet regularly with our elected officers.
3) To ensure all support staff in schools receive inner London pay.
We call upon Ealing Schools Forum to:
1) Agree that secondary schools should contribute as much money as primary school towards the trade union facilities pot as they once did.
2) To amend the existing local trade union facilities agreement so that elected NEU reps do not have a cap on facilities time in relation to the number of members and that it is included in their timetables.
We call upon Ealing Schools to:
1) To separate pay and appraisal entirely, so that teachers move from M1 to UPS3 every year, automatically.
2) To allow teachers to take PPA time at home.
