2015 Month of Community Power & Food Week of Action

Thanks for joining us for the 2015 Food Week of Action (October 11-18) and the Month of Community Power (October)! The US Food Sovereignty Alliance (USFSA), the Presbyterian Hunger Program and other allies are highlighting the need to build food sovereignty and reclaim the commons. Using World Food Day on October 16 as a marker, we join with allies and partners globally this month in actions that raise awareness and help end hunger and poverty by building more just food and farm systems everywhere.

The aim of the Month of Community Power is for frontline communities and grassroots organizations to organize actions and connect the work they are already involved in with the broader food sovereignty movement, and create a network of support and solidarity for our collective work.

PLEASE describe your Month of Community Power as well as your Food and Farm Justice-related events, declarations, activities, harvest celebrations, ritual blessings, protests, marches, vigils, liturgies, gleanings, leadership retreats, sermons, hoop house "barn-raisings," lobbying days, garlic planting, dismantling racism and economic oppression workshops, solidarity labor parties, direct actions will be happening in your neck of the woods.

See all the actions and learn more at http://www.usfoodsovereigntyalliance.org/world-food-day, http://bit.ly/EAA-FoodWeek and http://pcusa.org/foodweek Your entries will be posted on the map on http://pcusa.org/foodweek and the above sites.
