Global Livingston Institute (GLI) has worked to put our curriculum and resources together on the ground in Uganda and the US to launch a rigorous academic initiative in order to accommodate students seeking to work on capstones, internships and independent study opportunities in a remote capacity!
That's how the “Global Scholars Fellowship Program”, an interactive online classroom & research experience, was born!
Each cohort is open to up to 25 spots for undergraduate & graduate students and also open to recent college graduates.
Winter 24 Cohort:
Cohort 8: January 8th to 19th, 2024
The 2-week fellowship program includes:
--Daily lecture series and discussions with key community development leaders from US & East Africa;
--Collaborative Research projects that will include a focus on education, public health, agriculture, conservation, and other fields;
--Remote mentoring and advisory support throughout;
--Participation with a Uganda/US led team to advance academic goals and research efforts;
Contact Sebastian Dittgen (sebastian@globallivingston.org) regarding program costs. GLI has limited partial scholarships available for higher needs students participating.
This is an intensive, interactive, rigorous academic program and we will be recruiting students who are highly motivated and eager to build international experience, albeit on a remote-basis! Students are welcome to apply for independent study credits through their own advisors/universities as needed, and GLI will support students needing to complete an internationally-focused capstone, internship or independent study through this program. Students who participate will also be encouraged to engage in future East Africa field experience opportunities with GLI when travel permits. Please read the
syllabus and
curriculum to learn more.
