Three invitation-only Sharing moments with AutonomiaTonaleZero in Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen.
AutonomiaTonaleZero is a Rome-based trio.The members came across the cultural environment of Hindustani classical music by collaborating, researching, composing and developing a transcultural language with late Rohan Dasgupta, world wide renown sitarist, who gave all his knowledge and tools to create a new way of thinking and perspective about tradition and transculturality. Through and thanks to this decade long cooperation, it was possible to explore the aesthetic of Indian classical music and culture, and such distant looking concepts as Raga, Tala, Rasa, and grammar structures for improvisation and composing. ATZ, furthermore, has been studying Tabla and indian rhythm under the guidance of eminent teachers and through research projects since 2015, in the field of rhythmic language translation and time perception in music. Therefore the project explores contemporary music and improvisation through a transcultural approach, in which Western jazz language dialogues with influences drawn from Hindustani classical music.
