Volunteers for Elementary School Literacy (VESL)

The Rotary Clubs of Shenandoah County have partnered with Shenandoah County Public Schools to provide tutoring for elementary students in need of improving their reading comprehension skills.

Where: W. W. Robinson and Ashby Lee Elementary Schools
Volunteer Duties: Initial focus on K–2 reading comprehension skills
Time Commitment: One hour either one or two days a week while school is in session
Training: Shenandoah County Public Schools will provide tutor training and orientation in mid-January 2026.
Start Date: Late January 2026
Requirements: Volunteers must pass a background check and complete a brief interview.
