Got To Move ABCD Programme Participant Sign Up
Creatives Inspirit is honoured to be part of the National Arts Council's Got To Move 2017 campaign to celebrate the diversity of Singapore's dance scene! As part of our ABCD programme, we are holding THREE activities happening from 14 October to 29 October!

About the AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD) programme:

Creatives Inspirit is a creative arts company founded on the principles of clown, dance theatre, and Zumba. We are a strong advocate for empowering the individual to be a creator, performer or change-maker, regardless of sickness, disability or lack of performance experience.

As such, the AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD) Programme is the company’s effort to create an education and outreach programme aimed at the wider public on different audience levels to promote the idea that anybody is able to dance, regardless of ability or skill level. We believe this is strongly in line with the National Arts Council’s Got To Move ethos, celebrating diversity in the Singaporean dance scene and aiming to involve all citizens in this nationwide dance movement. With the AnyBody Can Dance Programme, access to the worlds of dance for the masses in Singapore will be as easy as ABCD.

1. Play Through Movement: Kids (DONE!)

Date: Saturday, 14 October
Time: 2pm-3.15pm (75 minutes)
Location: DANCE ON US | 8 Claymore Hill Road | #01-03/04/05, 8 on Claymore | Singapore 229572
Capacity: 20 pax

This particular workshop will focus on bringing clown games to children (ages 5-9), using movement as a medium of expression. It hopes to develop the children’s individuality through play as well as empower a child to be their own choreographer, playing games to nurture movement created by the child. Each child will be given an introduction to 3 basic world rhythms to also educate them on the diversity of dance cultures in the world, in hopes of stimulating an interest in learning more about various rhythms.

2. Play Through Movement: Public (DONE!)

Date: Saturday, 14 October
Time: 3.30pm-5pm (90 minutes)
Location: DANCE ON US | 8 Claymore Hill Road | #01-03/04/05, 8 on Claymore | Singapore 229572
Capacity: 20 pax

This workshop is targeted at the general public, especially people who may experience physical illnesses, mental illnesses, and disabilities. Having experienced working with these groups of people before, we are a strong advocate for bringing dance to all kinds of bodies and we believe in the power of dance and play in therapy and wellness. Thus, we hope to introduce dance creation and learning as a new way of expression. Clown techniques will be used as a form of engagement through dance, to inform the dance-making process as well as to bring out the individuality of each participant.

3. Mass Zumba in the Park (STILL OPEN!)

Date: Sunday, 29 October
Time: 4.30pm-5.30pm (60 minutes)
Location: Toa Payoh Town Park | Pavilion and Lawn
Capacity: 100 pax

This mass celebratory event hopes to bring all everyone together to celebrate the joy of movement. The twist is that participants would be encouraged to co-lead in stage, giving them a sense of empowerment and showing them that they can be leaders when it comes to expressing themselves through dance.
