Earth System Governance in the Asia-Pacific
The Earth System Governance Project is seeking to form a Working Group on Earth System Governance in the Asia-Pacific. This initiative seeks to start an informal discussion with scholars who are interested in adding regional perspectives and insights of the Asia-Pacific context more prominently into earth system governance research, by reflecting on their research and experience in different fields and disciplines, and applying the Earth System Governance analytical framework to socio-ecological challenges within the Asia-Pacific region.
We believe that this initiative is timely, not only because of the rapid socio-economic development, increasing dynamics and rate of environmental change in Asia-Pacific, but also due to the increasing numbers of new ideas and research innovations produced by the scholars in the region to govern current and future socio-environmental problems.
With this survey, we hope to gain a better understanding of any potential interest in forming such a working group, as well as to understand the expectations and opportunities from interested Research Fellows, Senior Research Fellows, and Lead Faculty members of the Earth System Governance community, or from outside the network.
This survey will help us to define contributions, possible outputs, themes, theoretical and empirical angles, and preferred contributing roles, and modes of collaboration. We hope to soon follow this survey up with an initial call to discuss the next steps and to prepare a more detailed work plan and timeline.
Please kindly fill this survey out by Friday, 13 February 2021.
