African American Women in Higher Education – New England is accepting proposals for program presentations to be facilitated at its Annual Conference related to the theme, ‘’Reclaiming Our Time”. Presenting an educational session enables you to share your knowledge by discussing topics unique to Black women in higher education. Deadline: Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:
□ Content, creative design of presentation and thoughtfulness of topic
□ Significance, timeliness, and relevance to the theme
□ Level of interaction with participants

Relevant topics and areas of focus may include, but are not limited to:

□ Making self-care needs a priority
□ Navigating the demands on your time to address racial issues
□ Standing in our Own Power: showing up authentic
□ Toolkit - what does it mean to reclaim your time
□ Career advancement and Coaching: do’s and don’ts
□ The politics of promotion
□ Strategic practices - work smarter not harder
□ Making powerful connections
□ Building influence and leading change
□ How to make a political difference - honing your political voice

Plenary sessions are 75 minutes in length, including a question and answer portion. Attendees represent a variety of professional areas in the academy; faculty, administration, staff and student affairs professionals from two- and four-year institutions, representing public, private, and proprietary institutions.
