Monash aMigo Ambassador - Application Form
Cross Campus O-Volunteering

Clayton Only - Please feel free to apply here, but if you wish to be involved in Host Scheme's events and activities, please also apply here:

This new cross-campus program merges enrolments/pre-week 0 event volunteering, Ask Me elements and aMigo virtual volunteering.

This collaboration provides student moderators for aMigo and a physical student face for all aMigo and orientation events.

Volunteers will be active during the aMigo activation period (4 weeks before Week 0 - end of Week 4 per semester).

How does it work

After receiving their offer, new students are encouraged to create an aMigo profile, they are then asked to choose a number of interests. All student union pre-O week and post O-week events and offerings will be listed through aMigo as an interest and displayed as part of the aMigo endorsed event calendar.

Trained volunteer ambassadors will answer questions and guide students to socialise with one another. They will also actively promote events and activities and answer questions and posts made by new students regarding these social functions.

Volunteers will be provided with:
Basic approachability training
Ambassador expectations and requirements
Event volunteering expectations and requirements
aMigo Moderator training
Campus Tour presentation (Optional - depending on campus need)
Volunteers will be expected to complete the following LILO Units:
Communicate with impact
Connecting across cultures
Event and project management
Successful mentoring

Volunteers will also be able to receive a certificate at the end of the aMigo term if they are deemed active and reliable volunteers.

Apparel and Recognition

While aMigo is virtual, the purpose of the platform is for students to make friends virtually and then physically meet up with their aMigo friends.

Volunteers will not only be online moderators but will also be involved in orientation events and activities.

Volunteers will be provded and are expected to wear their SU/monash branded hoodies and t-shirts, while running orientation events and when actively promoting aMigo.

We recommend that volunteers have been Monash University students for at least one whole semester prior to applying. This is strongly recommended as students will have a better understanding of the university's services and opportunities.
