Please review the commitments for yearbook and newspaper below.
South Paw (Yearbook)
--I understand that I must attend a staff meeting on May 10, 2018 at 2:45 p.m. in room C200. If I have sports or another unavoidable conflict, I must make arrangements with Mrs. Palmer and the new editors to meet at another time.
--I understand that it will be my responsibility to help sell yearbooks at registration to generate income for the yearbook. More information will be provided at the meeting on May 10.
--I understand that as a member of the yearbook staff, I will be required to work before and after school on assignments, including taking photos of school events. By joining staff, I make a commitment to fulfill these responsibilities and realize that I will need to be flexible with my other activities and/or work schedule to do so.
--I understand that I will be required to attend one after-school work night per month. These dates will be provided on the first day of school and will provide a minimum of three weeks notice for the first work night. Attendance will be worth points toward my final grade. Work nights missed for sports or other conflicts will need to be approved by a given date and time will need to be made up in Tutorial or another arranged time.
--I understand that the yearbook is a student publication with an established leadership structure. My peers will supervise my work and lead staff meetings; however, the adviser will assign my grade.

The View (Newspaper)
--I understand that I must attend a staff meeting on May 8, 2018 at 2:45 p.m. in room C200. If I have sports or another unavoidable conflict, I must make arrangements with Mrs. Palmer and the new editors to meet at another time.
--I understand that it will be my responsibility to help sell business advertisements over the summer. More information will be provided at the meeting on May 8.
--I understand that as a member of the newspaper staff, I will be required to work before and after school on assignments. By joining staff, I make a commitment to fulfill these responsibilities and realize that I may need to be flexible with my other activities and/or work schedule to do so.
--I understand that I may be asked to attend one Monday work night prior to final deadline each month. Publication dates will be provided to staff at the beginning of each semester.
--I understand that the newspaper is a student publication with an established leadership structure. My peers will supervise my work and lead staff meetings; however, the adviser will assign my grade.

Students who have not taken prerequisite:
- I understand I will have the opportunity to attend a one-day summer workshop (date TBA--will be released immediately after staffs announced in February) in which I will learn the basics about Journalism to prepare me to be on staff. This is not a requirement but will help me not behind at the beginning of the school year.

Check the box below indicating you agree to fufill the above listed commitments as a potential future member of a Panther Publications staff. *
