AFFIRMATIONS OF FAITH
The following questions, sometimes referred to as membership vows, will be asked of you:
1. Do you acknowledge yourselves to be sinners in the sight of God and without hope for your salvation except in His sovereign mercy?
2. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Savior of sinners, and do you receive and depend upon Him alone for your salvation as He is offered in the gospel?
3. Do you now promise and resolve, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?
4. Do you promise to serve Christ in His Church by supporting and participating with this congregation in its service of God and its ministry to others to the best of your ability?
5. Do you submit yourself to the government and discipline of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and to the spiritual oversight of this Church Session, and do you promise to promote the unity, purity, and peace of the Church?
I am able to answer the above questions in the affirmative. *
APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
I affirm the truths set forth in the Apostles' Creed. *
ADULT BAPTISM
A statement of faith is a public declaration of trust in Christ for life and salvation.  It might be as short as two or three sentences or as long as a paragraph. If might be as simple as, "I fully receive my redemption through the work of Christ. I am excited to follow him in the context of my baptism at Christ Church." Or it might also include a small portion of your story. It is our hope that you will read your Statement of Faith to the congregation just before your baptism. If you feel uncomfortable sharing in public, the pastor is happy to read the statement on your behalf.
As I am coming forward for adult baptism, please find my Statement of Faith written here.
