STEM Career Showcase Speaker & Table Submission Form
The Philadelphia Science Festival with the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support and the Independence Seaport Museum are hosting the STEM Career Showcase on Friday, March 16th from 3:00- 6:00 pm for STEM-curious 8th-12th grade students. This career showcase, taking place at the Independence Seaport Museum, will join together leading scientific, educational, and governmental institutions in the city and introduce students to all that our programs have to offer. Through tabling and a series of flash-talks by fascinating STEM professionals about their sometimes strange, sometimes surreal scientific work, the STEM Career Showcase is the perfect way to begin
exploring the wide world of STEM careers and learn about the many free camps, after-school
programs, and internships available to our city’s most curious students.

Tables are expected to be set up by the time that doors open at 3 pm until 6 pm. Students will visit tables and have the opportunity to ask questions about the program and/or career you represent.

Flash talks should last no more than 5 minutes. Your talk should aim to get students excited about STEM careers in general, and talk about why your job in particular is interesting. Your talk should answer: What you do, How did you get here, and Why it's cool. There will be a person who will work with you as you develop your talk to make it exciting and engaging to teenagers.

You may chose to participate in either the table or flash talk, or both. Speakers are encouraged to talk to students after the flash talks from 5-6 pm.

The form must be submitted by 5 pm on February 9th. You will be contacted after the deadline to confirm participation.
