We are seeking public comment on talking points currently drafted for 2020 Lobby Session. Please take a moment to submit your feedback on these points, as these will be the topics we will be presenting to the legislators in January.
The opiate crisis - Cannabis has proven to be a less harmful alternative for treating opioid use disorder in contrast to the prescription drugs methadone and suboxone. Since the enactment of the Medical cannabis program on December 1, 2017, we have seen a plateau in the number of opioid related deaths in the state of Maryland. *

Home cultivation - personally cultivated cannabis helps reduce the illicit market and benefits patients by allowing them to be self- sufficient, without negatively impacting the overall tax revenue generated by legalizing cannabis for adult use. Home cultivation rights will lower price, and gives more control to the quality of product produced by an individual. Increase plant count to 6-25 per county by population. *
