Join the Idaho Out-of-School Network’ next webinar on “Using classroom management in out-of-school settings!” Learn how to apply a few classroom management techniques to keep kids in your program focused, engaged, learning and having fun without looking like a classroom! Out-of-school programs should not be designed like classrooms. Yet unstructured and less formal settings doesn’t mean that focus, engagement and learning can’t occur. In fact, out-of-school program providers should embrace this setting because it presents youth with a different setting to learn skills not taught in the classroom. However, there are some tried and true classroom management techniques that front line staff can use to help keep kids engaged and having fun.
