UCLA Arrowhead Symposium Scholarship Application
Our funding from sponsors and individually-ticketed attendees will allow us to offer a limited amount of free and discounted registrations from this scholarship application.

In 2024, priority will go to those who are actively working to advance equity in transportation, placemaking, and community legacies in cities that are planning for mega-events.

Those who are offered a symposium discount or scholarship must register within 1 week of being notified of the opportunity.

How do you work to advance equity in transportation, placemaking, and community events? *
What do you do to improve how the transportation system meets the needs of people who face access and mobility constraints? Scholarships are prioritized for those advancing equity in transportation, placemaking, and community legacies as part of their compensated or uncompensated work.
How will attending the Symposium help you professionally?
Please include 200 to 400 words to ensure the selection committee has adequate information to make a decision.
How might your lived experience inform the perspectives you bring to this collaborative learning environment?
The Arrowhead Symposium had historically been attended by those with access to and status in political and academic power structures, which has skewed older, whiter, and toward those with greater levels of career and income security than the whole of those who work in transportation, land use, and the environment. Over the past 5 years, the Arrowhead Steering Committee has sought to increase diversity at the symposium by increasing the participation of those who are early in their careers, those who work in advocacy and community organizing, people of color, those who identify as LGBTQ+, and others who have been marginalized from access to power.
