Please fill out the information below to register for the EMLSS-B (PBIS) Tier 2 Team Training Hybrid Series.

Only 1 team member attending needs to register. This person will indicate additional team names below.

This 3 day (over 4 dates) training series is intended for school teams that include administration, classroom teachers, student services, and PBIS Tier 1 representation. This training is designed for teams that have never been trained in PBIS Tier 2 practices, teams or buildings that have had significant staff turnover, or teams that were trained prior to 2018 and want to update their training and implementation knowledge. Ideal teams have 6-10 members who are committed to working together for at least a full year and who are prepared to engage families, community members, and students in decision-making.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Tier 2 training is focused on establishing or revitalizing the systems schools use to provide intervention for students with behavior needs that are not met in the Universal system alone. In this series participating teams will learn the core features of Tier 2 systems, interventions, and how to apply those features to behavior and social-emotional supports. This series also includes direct instruction in behavioral intervention design and delivery. This training is designed to embed equitable practices in PBIS systems and aligns to the latest guidance and materials available from the National Center on PBIS.

Objectives:

  • Define the six features of Tier 2 (selected) interventions and the connection with Tier 1 (universal) systems
  • Analyze current interventions for the six features of Tier 2 (selected) interventions
  • Create a plan to develop or refine check-in check-out (CICO), modified CICO, social academic instructional groups (SAIG), mentoring, and brief behavior intervention plans (BIP) that include all six intervention features
  • Create a plan to train, support, and gather feedback from students, staff, families
  • Practice systems-level discussions and data-based decision-making
