Open letter to Trustees of the Old Vic Theatre: Royal Bank of Canada sponsorship

The Old Vic’s corporate partnership with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) first began in 2015, with the current contract up for renewal again this August 2024.

This letter, signed by members of the theatre and performing arts community, urges the Old Vic not to renew its partnership with RBC, given the bank's financing of fossil fuel production and infrastructure, its support for clients that are actively trampling the rights of Indigenous peoples, as well as its connections to the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.
