2019 Covington Farmers Market Application, January 5th - December 14th
The 2019 Covington Farmers Market is a year-round market, meeting Saturdays, 9 AM - 1 PM, rain or shine. As a Kentucky Proud Market, we are bound by this program's tenants to promote Kentucky products and growers, therefore, we are open to those who grown and produce in Kentucky, those who grow and produce within 50 miles of Kentucky, and those who produce using Kentucky products. We are NOT a "whole-sale" or "resale" market: all producers grow or make their own products, and we are not a craft or flea market.

Our market is organized into three "seasons" which have different vending price points, based on the season, traffic at the market, and length. Below is the breakdown:

Pre Season: January through April, indoors at The Roebling Room (behind Smoke Justis): $100
Peak Season: May through October, outdoors on 3rd between Scott and Greenup: $150
Post Season: November and December, indoors, location TBD: $50

Making a commitment to the entire 50 week season will discount the total cost to $250.

Should a farm vendor want to sell plant starts in the last two weeks of April, we offer a Pre Season Plant Pass: $25 (This option is only available for farm vendors who will sell later in the season)

Vendors who engage in our outdoor market are expected to have a tent with weights, no larger than 12' x 12'. Vendors who participate, regardless of season, will need to provide their own tables and chairs, clearly-marked branding, and signage which states products' prices.

The market's mission is to provide an economically viable direct-marketing opportunity for KY makers and producers offering nutritious, locally-grown food to the residents of Covington and the Ohio River Valley.

Additionally, we work to increase accessibility through participation in WIC, SNAP, SFMNP, and KY Double Dollars.

Each week of the Peak Season aims to be consistent in its programming:
1st Saturdays: Farm to Bar-- promoting brewers' and distillers' agricultural links
2nd Saturdays: Farm Fit (work out and yoga opportunities) and Pet Adoption
3rd Saturdays: Sustainability and KY Artisans
4th Saturdays: Kids' Activities
5th Saturdays: TBD

We also have live music during Peak Season, every week, beginning at 11 AM.

All vendors of food products must have liability insurance, abide by all food safety regulations in the state of Kentucky, and be certified to produce or produce in a commercial kitchen to vend their product (if certification/commercial kitchen production is required by the state). Proof of certification and insurance is required before vending. Additionally, scheduled work place visits will take place before new vendors will be offered a contract to ensure the integrity of the products offered at the market.

Covington Farmers Market is a program of Renaissance Covingtington, a non-profit dedicated to urban vibrancy. The market is co-managed by Alexa Abner, alexaabner@rcov.org, and Megan Ayers, meganayers@rcov.org
