Penn Benjamins Peer Counseling is recruiting new counselors for the 2023-2024 school year.
Penn Benjamins is Penn's only in-person peer counseling resource and was started as a way for students to connect with one another. We provide a confidential, listening ear, and offer students a safe and comfortable space to talk and work through their stresses. All members are trained for a full semester in a program built in conjunction with CAPS before they start counseling. For more information about Penn Bens, please visit our website (https://pennbenjamins.weebly.com/), Facebook page (like us on FB!), Instagram, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Counselors will be trained during Spring 2023 from Feb 22-April 5th every Wednesday from 7-9 PM. Upon completion of training, counselors will be able to hold sessions starting Fall 2023.
Counseling takes place every Sun-Tours from 8-11pm in Van Pelt. Counselors on shift have the responsibility to be in the assigned counseling location and can pick and choose which dates they counsel for flexibility.
Only undergrad students (excluding seniors) may apply to become a Benjamin. After we review applications, you may be contacted for an interview. Interviews will take place from Feb 9-15, and will be conducted by members of the Ben's Board
Applications to be a counselor are due February 1st at midnight.
