West River Youth Sports – Code of Conduct
Youth sports play an important role in promoting the
emotional and physical development of our student athletes. Respectful behavior
and good sportsmanship are essential for parents, coaches, and athletes. All
adults involved should always be modeling good sportsmanship and lead by
example.
Parents/Spectators/Coaches will follow the
policy below:
1. I
will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for
youth, not adults.
2. I
(and my guest) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage
sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive
support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game,
practice, or sporting event.
3. I
(and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any
official, coach, players, or parent such as booing and taunting, refusing to
shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.
4. I will demand that my child treat other
players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect regardless of race,
creed, color, sex, or ability.
I hereby agree that if I fail to conform my conduct to
the Youth Sports Code of Conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action
including, but not limited to the following depending on the severity of the
offense: 1. Verbal or Written warning 2. Suspension or ejection from the
current youth sports games 3. Suspension from all future youth sports games.
I therefore pledge (by digitally signing below) to be
responsible for my actions and words while attending a youth sporting
event.
