Dear Aspiring Mentors,
We know engineering was/is a tough ride, yet we all persevered through each year. Here is your chance to share your experience and learnings with young high school students.
University of Toronto High School Design Competition (UTHSDC), is a competition that promotes engineering design thinking. High school students (grades 9-12) will be required to create solutions to a real world problem that will be given to them on the day of the event, guided by MENTORS (YOU) throughout the engineering design process.
You could think of it as ESP/Praxis training wheels for high schoolers. Your role in this event will be to motivate students to ask questions, encourage engineering design thinking, share experiences and help facilitate the event. This may sound daunting, but it’s a great way to practice your communication and leadership skills.
(Free lunch and snacks will be provided for all volunteers)
UTHSDC will be happening on Saturday, Nov 26 (9 am - 6 pm) at Bahen Centre of Information Technology. Please fill out this form if you are interested in becoming a mentor for the event!
