Middle School Frederick County Science & Engineering Fair 2019
Thank you for registering for the 38th Annual Frederick County Science and Engineering Fair. We look forward to seeing you Friday, March 29 between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM at Tuscarora High School's Gymnasium to set up your project and check in with the Safety Review Committee (this is required). On Saturday, March 30 judging will occur from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Middle School judging is divided into two shifts. The first shift includes these categories (Animal Sciences, Biochemistry,Biomedical and Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Earth and Environmental Sciences,Energy: Chemical & Physical, Environmental Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Robotics and Intelligent Machines, Translational Medical Science) and is judging from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. The second shift includes these categories (Behavioral and Social Sciences, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Embedded Systems, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science, Microbiology, Plant Sciences, Systems Software) and is judging from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. You are required to be present the entire two hours of your shift for judging and parents will not be allowed in the gym during judging. The fair opens to the public at 3:00 PM and the awards ceremony will be held Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM in the auditorium. Your science fair project should be set up as a display. In addition to this online registration, all required ISEF forms (1, 1A, Research Plan and 1B) must be submitted to the FCPS Secondary Science Office by Sunday, March 10, 2019. Additional forms may be required for potentially hazardous projects (human subjects, vertebrates, biological agents, institution based projects, hazardous chemicals, etc.).
